The charming little Robin is a mainstay in our British gardens. Constantly looking for any worms and bugs you may uncover when you’re gardening and brazenly darting down in front of you to pick up a quick snack.
This cute little stained glass robin uses textured and streaky glass to add depth and markings to this piece. The pattern is designed by myself and all stages are completed by hand from cutting the glass, to copper foiling and soldering together. As every stage is hand crafted, every bird will differ very slightly, giving them their own ‘character’.
The wooden base on which the bird is mounted is hand waxed, and allows it to be displayed in any situation, such as a windowsill, shelf or mantel. The base of the wood has a covering of baize to prevent any marking to surfaces.
